In 2057 energy of the Sun seems to be running out and the spaceship Icarus with huge nuclear fission bomb is sent with mission to detonate it on the surface of the Sun. This operation is suppose to reignite the dying Sun, at least that is the theory. But Icarus is actually Icarus II, the first mission that took place 7 years earlier failed. When Icarus II reaches the orbit of Mercury they start to receive distract signals from Icarus I and decide to change their trajectory and find out why first mission did not reach their target. But the next events make them believe that someone is trying to stop.

Scifi movie that takes place aboard the Icarus II when they are closing to the their target - the Sun - and the light and temperature are becoming serious problem for the crew. Although the plot is based on rather unrealistic idea of "restarting" the sun by explosion of the bomb, but the atmosphere, the tension among the crew, the pressure of the mission, the mystery behind the Icarus I - it is all there and it makes a decent movie.
