In year 2089 archaeologists Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway discover a star map that seems to be linking the ancient cultures and suggesting that they were created by the same creatures that visited Earth from space. The scientists named the creatures "the Engineers" and soon they have found the wealthy supporter of their theory - Peter Weyland - who offers them the trip on the spaceship Prometheus to the LV-223 moon, where the map is leading. On the surface od LV-223 they find the abandoned constructions of the Engineers and learn the story of their decline, but parts of that history are somehow unclear...

Scifi movie that was devised as prequel to the Alien movies, although both stories are not directly linked. Intriguing plot involving alien species that helped develop our civilization and the mystery of their downfall. As usual Ridley Scott presented it in interesting and involving way, so overall it is rather good scifi movie.
