In post-apocalytpic world the human kind have adapted to living in closed city beneath the dome. The whole society is controlled by central computer and all of the aspects of the everyday lives are according to rules. One of those rules defines the maximum age for any person to be 30 - after reaching that age they are vaporized and ostensibly "renewed" as completely new people. But some of the people are trying to avoid being "renewed" and simply try to escape the city. But the computer doesn?t allow the Runners, because that?s how they are called, to survive the attempts. The officers, called Sandmen, are ought to pursuit and kill them. One of the Sandmen, Logan 5, finds an ankh among the possessions of one of the Runners. He later learns that ankh is symbol of secret group that helps the Runners to escape and move to Sanctuary. Computer instructs Logan 5 to find and destroy the Sanctuary, which forces him to become a Runner.

Science fiction movie, one of many that presented the future society as being runned by the computers, but it is different from THX 1138 or 1984, unfortunately different not in a good way. It was made with Hollywood approach to science fiction - with big names in the cast, cheap sets, average plot and no deeper thoughts.
