In year 2069 the space probe finds a planet on the same orbit as Earth, with same time of rotation around the Sun, but place exactly on the other side of the Sun. This factors caused this planet to be always hidden behind Sun and thus it was never discovered before. In Eurosec, the European Space Exploration Council, director Jason Webb tries to convince NASA and governments that it is vital to send a mission and find out as much as possible about the newly discovered planet. He finds a perfect crew for it - Colonel Glenn Ross and British astrophysicist Dr John Kane. Together they have the knowledge and experience needed for this mission. Despite the political and economical reistance Webb finally sends the the mission that should take about six weeks. Ross and Kane reached their target, but crashed during the landing. When they are rushed to the hospital they are informed that they have returned after just three weeks and everyone is anxious to find out what happened.

Classic science fiction thriller with interesting prelude - the idea that there could be object on the other side of the Sun that we could not see before the exploration of space. Although after the prelude the plot becomes the slightly chaotic and pace of the events is very, very low.
