Mysterious plague have attacked the human kind and wiped out most of the people around the world. United States was no exception and now, in the post-apocalyptic reality, even New York City is inhabited by small communities and gangs. Strange woman that introduced herself as Pearl Prophet, hires Gibson Rickenbacker - she needs to reach Atlanta and she wants him to escort her. Gibson, who seems to be hiding some dark secrets, agrees, but soon is surprised by the Pearl?s explanation. She confesses that she actually is a cyborg and she has the information that could allow the scientists in Atlanta to stop the plague and rescue rest of the human kind. Unfortunately soon a gang called Pirates, led by ruthless Fender Tremolo, finds out about Gibson?s mission. They decide to kidnap Pearl and make use of the data she is carrying. Rickenbacker now has to save her in order to save the people.

Sci fi film that is more of the martial arts flick (which is hardly surprising since Jean-Claude Van Damme plays the main part) rather than actual science fiction. Yes, we have the post-apocalyptic reality, yes, we have the magical cure for the disease, yes, we have cyborg and deadly gangs, but all of it leads straight into another session of senseless ass-kicking filmed in deactivated factories and empty spaces. There were some elements that tried to add some depth to the main story, but they were far from being much better than the journey to Atlanta of the main characters. Overall a film on the same level as most of the productions starring Van Damme - just simple adventure flick with some poor acting and martial arts thrown in.
