While visiting his brother Paul in Kiev, Chris agrees to take detour from his cross-Europe trip with his girlfriend Natalie. He planned to travel straight to Moscow and propose to her, but his brother convinces him to take part in an "extreme tourism" - he knows an agency, where you can hire a guide and enter the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Exclusion Zone. This is one of the few places on Earth completely shut down from access to civilians after the 1986 nuclear power plant disaster that left the Chernobyl and closest areas a nuclear wasteland. But since the radiation has decreased limited number of people have been granted the access. Paul hires Yuri, the guide, and together with some tourists they travel to the border of the exclusion area. Military guards refuses them the entrance for unclear reasons, but Yuri recalls an old road leading towards Pripyat, the abandoned city closest to Chernobyl. Undetected by the guards they drive into Pripyat, the town suddenly deserted by the inhabitants during the evacuation. There are still their things lying around in the houses, there are still children’s toys and the amusement park covered in rust. While wandering through one of the empty residential buildings they stumble upon a bear, which luckily for them lest them unharmed. Yuri rushes them back to the van - he wants to leave the exclusion zone before night, but when they reach the car it looks like someone, or something, has damaged their electric cables. Yuri tries to contact the military forces by radio, but with no luck. They are about to spend a night locked in the van in he middle of abandoned city.

Horror movie with elements of science fiction set in one of the iconic places on Earth - the Chernobyl exclusion area, where nuclear fallout left the whole city of Pripyat completely empty for last 25 years. This sounds like a great setup for horror movie, or at least decent scifi movie, but unfortunately the creators went into rather poorly chosen direction with their story and while the beginning is promising and the plot is rather entertaining, still there are so many things that they might have done with the film that it is hard not to be disappointed. I mean they had the whole city and exclusion area to come up with good story, but instead they made one bad decision after another. Not bad movie, but could have been so much better.

Another half-baked idea for a horror - take an empty town and make it eerie. They found an empty town, the eerie was barely there... And less said about the ending is better
