Michelle, who just broke up with her boyfriend, drives down the lane somewhere in the rural Louisiana when suddenly something crashes into her car. She wakes up in some cellar, learns that she has a broken leg that someone had mended and also that she is handcuffed to the wall. Before she can figure out what happened to her she knocks over a drip that is attached to her arm. A large, older man comes into the room and reattaches the drip and explains to Michelle that she needs to hydrate. All she understands is that he kidnapped her and lock here, but he insists that he saved her life after the accident. He brings her crutches and key to the handcuffs. Now free she makes one of the crutches into crude weapon and tries for the man to come back. Since he doesn’t seem to come back any time soon she sets fire to the piece of cloth and places it in air duct. When smoke fills the room the alarm begins to ring and the man returns. Michelle attacks him as he crosses the door...
10 Cloverfield Lane is mixture of sci-fi, mystery and psychological drama that take place in closed environment of the underground bunker somewhere in the rural Louisiana. With intriguing premise, interesting concept and tense atmosphere it is one of the most original American movies in recent years. Unfortunately produced JJ Abrams are trying to (even by changing the original title to 10 Cloverfield Lane) mash it up together with 2008 Cloverfield movie into a pulp called Cloverfield universum (or another franchise, because there is no such thing as too many franchises I guess). Nevertheless it is very good movie, worth to know.
