Spaceship Leopold has collided with unknown ghost ship (or what was left of it) and soon it becomes clear that during that crash alien species have penetrated the hull of Leopold. As Theodore J. Conrad, an engineer traveling on board of Leopold we have to move through debris and dark corridors to restart the ship engines, so we could avoid crashing into nearby planet. On the way we discover that not only the alien species are definitely on board, but also they easily break through most of the walls or penetrate any space they can to reach us. Armed with pistol and machine gun we wander into the darkness of what is left of Leopold.

Alien Breed was a top-down view shooter set in reality similar to the one known from Alien movie series - arachnid-like creatures that rush towards you without warning and try to eat your brain. Alien Breed: Impact was modern version of the game, with improved graphic side and darker atmosphere it was a refreshing change. Unfortunately the changes did not stopped there - instead of top-down action shooter we have isometric third person game, in which we wander around the Leopold trying to complete given tasks and, from time to time, kill some aliens. The unfortunate bit about it is that the gameplay is frustratingly boring and repetitive, we just have to reach certain point, click the right button, at this moment few aliens will try to attack us, so we have to do some shooting and then move to another point. While the surroundings look quite good they are can hardly create the atmosphere of dark spaceship or feeling of constant danger.
