Radio science fiction drama series containing different story in each episode. The stories were often based on the novels and short stories earlier published in Galaxy Science Fiction (also called Galaxy Magazine) by well known authors, like Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl and also original sciprts from Ernest Kinoy and George Lefferts, who were house-in script writers for the show.
Many of the scipts in X Minus One were originally used by Kinoy and Lefferts in another radio series - Dimension X (1950-1951) - and thus it is often called simple and extension to Dimension X. But X Minus One had different style from Dimension X offering not only the core sci fi stories, but often lighter side of the genre and stories from borderline science fiction. The show was broadcasted between 1955 and 1958, but X Minus One was surprisingly revived for short time in 1973 when NBC used the show as test baloon to see if radio drama could still attract many listeners in 1970s. After less than 2 years of broadcasting old scripts the idea was dropped in 1975.
