In 1995, when John Connor is about 10-years-old, another Terminator is sent from the future. This time it is the newer model, T-1000, and he is after John himself and not his mother. Connor is living with foster family since his mother, Sarah, is locked in the mental institution. He never believed in her stories about the Terminator, until one day the cyborg simply showed up...
Second film from Terminator series was in many ways spectacular for use of special effects to make T-1000 built from liquid-like metal that allowed him to change the shape within seconds, but on the other hand plot lacked the originality and freshness of the first movie. Also using teenager as main character was mistake - the cheesy scenes when he "teaches" the Terminator were... cute, to put it nicely. Great soundtrack, some great action scenes, but the plot could have been much better.
Not to mention that this movie has the same logic paradox as other scifi sequels - since they were able to make T-1000 why they didn’t send it back to 1984, where he could kill Sarah Connor when first terminator failed or even to the point before his attack. Afterall even if they gained the technology later it doesn’t change the fact that they could send it to any point in the past.
