In year 2034 alien species from the Alpha Centauri attacked the Earth for the first time. Human civilization prepared the Earth Security Administration, global forces that could fight the enemies. But the technological superiority of Centaurians give not much hope for the survival of human race. Soon it became obvious that they were determined to colonize the Earth. Humans begun to build large domes over cities to give some shelter to the survivors. Spencer Olham works for the goverment and designs weapons. His latest invention seems to be the most effective so far, but when his big day comes - the day that he will present his bomb to Chancellor - Olham is suddenly arrested by ESA. They suspect him of being a replicant - the Centaurians sent some of their androids that are made from artificial DNA that look exactly like humans they are replacing. The only way to prove that Olham is in fact replicant is... to remove his heart. If he is replicant the heart will contain "u-bomb" that could destroy most of the city. If he is human he will of course die. Olham has no other option than try to run away and prove that he is human.

Film based on a short story by Philip K. Dick raises quite interesting matter - how can you prove that you are human? Of course humans, contrary to androids, would have soul and feelings, but it is impossible to prove them in any scientific way. The film is kept close to the original story, the cast did well, but overall it is only average sci fi movie, mostly because of rather superficial approach to the plot. Short story was... what a surprise - short. Film with running time of over 90 minutes could have included much more content than original story, but the bits that take most time are chase or fight scenes. Based on a good story from legendary author it could have been better.
