Blade Runner 1982 scifi film

Running time: 110 minutes

Language: English

In year 2019, in completely different reality than we will see in just few months, androids called replicants are indistinguishable from human beings, the only way known to human kind to "detect" replicant is by putting them to psychological test called Voigt-Kampff test - asked some questions that should prompt a natural reaction of the pupils they fail to simulate human feelings. Former police officer Rick Deckard is approached by his former boss, Braynt, who wants him to track down four replicants that returned to Earth against the law. One of them, Leo, was put to Voigt-Kampff test, during which he killed the examiner. Deckard is reluctant to return to his old work as "blade runner", officer trained to detect and hunt androids, but under duress he agrees. His first step is to visit the founder of Tyrell Corporation, a genius, who created those four androids. The replicants Deckard is about to hunt are not only human-like, they were given false memories about their childhood, their parents, their families, which make them even harder to be detected. Tyrell introduced Deckard to his assistant, Rachael, who is such replicant, although she does not realize it...

Classic sci fi movie based on Philip K. Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? from 1968. While film had several different version throughout the years the 2007 director’s cut version (known as The Final Cut) is the best available - stripped of the unnecessary narration, very dark, very atmospheric and with typical for Dick novels ambiguous ending. Blade Runner is one of those sci fi movies that simply cannot be overlooked.
