Running time: 86 minutes
During Cold War in 1970s Liberty module of Apollo 18 with two astronauts onboard, commander Nathan Walker and captain Ben Anderson, lands on the Moon surface as a part of secret mission of American army. Their objective is to gather the scientific data, some rock samples, but also to make sure that Soviets are not in any way installing any equipment on the surface of the Moon. Their mission did not encounter any problems, they started to gather the informations and samples they needed, but at some point weird thing began to happen. Everything changes when they find a footprint close to Liberty module, where there should not be any signs of human beings. They follow the footprints and discover Soviet Moon lander that seems to be damaged, mostly on the inside, which is strange. To make things worse they also find a dead Soviet astronaut, which makes them wonder if they are alone - the crew of the lander should be at least two, which would mean there still could be one more astronaut alive somewhere. But while they investigate that possibility another eventuality becomes obvious - what if the other astronaut is also dead and the real danger lurks in the environment of the Moon itself...
Mystery and horror in this sci fi movie are mixed with high level of realism and despite the events are taking place on the surface of the Moon the claustrophobic atmosphere is setting the whole outlook of the movie - full of unknown hiding behind every rock they pass. Despite rather simple plot it is quite entertaining scifi film, in a way similar to Moon.
